The Great Geodetic Excursion 2024 (GGE 2024 for short) will take place from 4 to 7 June 2024 and is organized by the Chair of Cartography and Visual Analytics.

This time, we will travel down the Danube and visit the major cities of Linz, Vienna and Bratislava in turn. On the way back, we will drive deep into the Austrian Alps and visit the small towns of Gloggnitz, Semmering, Langenwang and Eisenerz. A series of varied and compact visits, ranging from major engineering projects (e.g. port, subway, railway, etc.) and museums, to government agencies, research institutes and universities, will take place.
